It is with great regret that as a result of official guidance, and due diligence, I have taken the decision to cancel all walks and Plodder events for the foreseeable future.
With the developing pandemic, it would be irresponsible to continue hosting gatherings of many people, from many walks of life.
In addition to this I live with a nurse, so personally have a somewhat increased chance of exposure, thus a greater chance of passing it on. It would be unfair on other volunteer leaders to be left running the show without me,
A) It’s not what they signed up for.
B) They won’t get the benefit of my whitty Remarks aNd woeful Punns. I mean Wonderful.
Whilst Ten Tors has not officially been cancelled as yet, I feel it is only a matter of time.
I am well aware that amongst our esteemed ranks we have many very committed and enthusiastic young people, who will be very keen to keep their time out on the moor, and who as a result may wish to continue having walks on the moors. Whilst this is a truly wonderful thing, I would strongly advise great caution, and encourage, nee insist, that all safety and responsible precautions are taken.
